I was born in Holland, Michigan, but moved to Taiwan when I was seven years old. I attended an international boarding school and lived in a dorm with sixteen high school students. A week after graduating from high school, I moved back to Michigan by myself for college.
After completing my teacher assisting at Northern Hills Middle School in Grand Rapids, I moved to Detroit to student teach at Henry Ford Academy. I graduated from Grand Valley with degrees in Secondary Education and English and minors in Physical Education and Applied Linguistics.
I love donuts and puppies and long naps in cars. I dream of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, building a tiny-house, and running a marathon on the Great Wall of China. (These lists are not complete).
One of my favorite verses is Ephesians 3:20, where the Lord is described as someone “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.”
