Math, Physics

Although I was born in Grand Rapids, I grew up in California and Florida. I attended Calvin College where I received a degree in Engineering in 2000. While I was finishing that program I felt God strongly calling me into education, so after graduation I continued at Calvin where I got my secondary teaching endorsement with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. I had the privilege of student teaching at Calvin Christian HS in the fall of 2001. After completeing this assignment I was offered a full time position, and have since taught Physics, Precalculus, FST, Statistics, Geometry, and have now started teaching Algebra as well. I have also received a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Grand Valley State University.

During my time at Calvin I have also coached over 30 seasons in a variety of sports (golf, basketball, track, and bowling) and been a Young Life leader. I consider a wonderful privilege and responsibility to be member of this community at Calvin Christian HS.
I am a member of Fellowship CRC, enjoy gardening, cooking, bicycling, running, and swimming.
