I graduated from Calvin College in 1992 and received my master’s degree from Grand Valley State University in music education.  While I attended Calvin College, I met my husband, Joel, in the French horn section in the Calvin band.

After Calvin, I enjoyed twenty-six fun and amazing years teaching band, choir, and general music to students, grades junior kindergarten through eighth grade at Byron Center Christian School.  Byron Center Christian School, its staff, students, parents, and board will remain a place of deep love, affection and gratitude in my heart.

Both Joel and I enjoy raising our two daughters, Jonathah (8th grade Calvin Chrisitian), and Joellah (3rd grade Grandville Christian). We have been delighted by the excellent Spanish Immersion program that exists here at Calvin Christian.  We live on the West side of Grand Rapids and are members of LaGrave Avenue CRC in Grand Rapids, MI. We love cycling, running, traveling, singing, canoeing, reading, making new friends, keeping up with family, and music making.

I am joyous that I will be able to teach music here at GCS/CCS as I team up with Mrs. Sarah Horton and Mr. Karel Malefyt in the Music Department. I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome and vision of the administration and staff here at Grandville/ Calvin Christian and look forward to this new phase of God’s plan for me and my family.  Soli Deo Gloria-“To God alone be the glory!”
