In 2017, my husband’s job caused us to move to the Grand Rapids area. At the time, I taught art at Hamady High School in the Westwood Heights Schools District in Flint, MI. Feeling overwhelmed at the thought of finding a new job opportunity, I focused on Jeremiah 29:11-13, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”.
During this trial and constant prayer, God revealed his plan to me. Becoming the new high school art teacher/culinary arts teacher is exactly what He had in mind. I am truly blessed here and thankful for all the teaching opportunities I’ve had at Grandville Calvin Christian. Before this dream of mine became a reality I married my husband in August of 2013, went to and graduated from University of Michigan-Flint in 2014, and adopted two kittens in 2015 (Mascot and Mittens).
Currently, I enjoy reading, sewing, and watching Aaron and his rugby team, The Lansing Crisis, play in the fall.
