After graduating from Dordt College, I started out my teaching career at Pella Christian Grade school in Iowa. I was athletic director, gym teacher and coach for two years until we moved to Michigan for my husband to attend seminary. I was head teacher of 4’s preschool at Orchard Hill Reformed church for two years and began substitute teaching when we were on our internship in Highland, Indiana. The next 12 years I substitute taught off and on as we served two churches in northwest Iowa and started our family. Seven years ago we moved to Michigan and I spent part of those years substitute teaching and working after school childcare here at GCCS. Last year I was given the opportunity to teach preschool again and currently I am teaching 3’s English preschool. Most of my spare time is spent with family. My husband Dale is pastor of Hope CRC and we have two daughters. I enjoy baking, decorating, and anything that gives me a chance to be outside. I consider it a privilege to be able to teach at GCCS and a blessing to be able to do what I love to do. One of my favorite Bible verses is Romans 15:13 – “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
