Advanced Placement (AP) Exam Registration
AP exams will take place in early May. AP exams allow students to demonstrate mastery of material covered in AP classes and, depending on results and individual university policy, possibly earn college credit or placement. Students do not need to take an AP class to attempt the AP exam for that subject. It is the student’s responsibility to consult the catalogs of the colleges of interest in order to determine each college’s policy with regard to AP exams.
- Registration will take place through Thursday, October 22, 2026.
- To register, complete the AP Test Registration Form below.
- Each exam costs $103.00.
- Please see the Exam Dates website for the exam schedule.
AP Exam Fee and Cancellation Policy
By registering for this AP Exam, you are committing to sit for the exam and agree to pay the exam fee.
- If you cancel or don’t test: You will still be charged a $40 unused/canceled exam fee per exam. This fee applies whether you cancel your registration or simply do not show up to test.
- If you register after the ordering deadline: A $40 late order fee will be added to the regular exam fee.
We understand plans change, but because exam materials are ordered on your behalf in advance, the College Board charges the school a fee for cancellations and no-shows — this policy passes that cost along rather than absorbing it as a school expense. Please only register for exams you intend to take.
AP Credit Policy
- Based on their performance on rigorous AP exams, students can earn credit, advanced placement, or both for college.
- Most US colleges and universities grant credit or advanced placement. Policies vary between (and sometimes within) institutions.
- For more information, view the AP Credit Policy and search for specific colleges’ AP policies.
